Oh, the Wonder of it...

It's not often that a movie gets it just right. I'm not talking 100% comic-book-according-to-hoyle accurate, because... which retcon or reboot of the character?

I'm talking about right. Right in that spot in the upper left part of your chest that says..."yeah, that was what I wanted" even if you didn't know until that very moment.

Captain America did that. Ant-Man did that. Doctor Strange did that. And now, Wonder Woman did that.

The DCEU has had a bumpy start, with the cool kids at Marvel/Disney mocking them from further on and the DC TV shows cheering them on and shaking their heads asking "why are you making it so complicated???" Watchmen was a hit, but not really connected to the DC Universe at large. Green Lantern was fun for me but largely reviled- a stone cold franchise-killer. Man of Steel, almost but not quite. In baseball terms, a single that put a runner on base. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was a walk that advanced the bases. Suicide Squad and the bases are loaded.

And Diana of Themyscira, Swung, Connected and calmly hit that ball out of the park and through the window of the BMW that currently has the alarm going off. She walked her bases, not because she had to, but because she totally could. She gave us hope that Justice's Dawning would be golden, not cloudy and dark.

If you haven't seen it, I'm not going to spoiler but one thing. You see glimpses of her costume...before she dons it, through a gap in her long black robe. A titillating glance here and a tease there, until the no-mans land scene. This was a brilliant move by a brilliant director.

There comes a moment in every great superhero film, when the hero truly becomes the hero- Amazing SpiderMan had the cranes scene. Captain America had marching back with the POWs. the original Spiderman had the rescue of the child from the fire. Iron Man had the rescue of Gulmira's people. That moment when the music swells, the hero heros, and the heart in your chest skips a beat, as tears rise to your eyes.

Wonder Woman has the no mans land scene, and it makes the boss-battle to follow somewhat anticlimactic. you see her, in all her glory...

I have fallen in love with Wonder Woman over and over, in different generations, on comics, on TV. This was the moment I was waiting for, and I fell in love all over again. This is a must see. And Must see again and again.

Note. I would have published this yesterday, but wanted to wait and unbox this figure with my buddy Tango. This is the exclusive toysr'us version of the Wonder Woman figure without the long black robe. I was happy to find her this weekend.

On This Date in 2017

I finally used the last of the bulk package of Italian Sausage- I also Garnished something with Raw Tomatoes.

Just finished a dinner of Italian sausage, Zucchini, Orange and Yellow bell pepper and Portabello mushrooms over Four cheese tortellini, garnished with grape tomatoes. It may have been the best thing I ever cooked, and was pretty simple to make

In Memoriam Telephonis

This is a Memorial for my first Smart-phone, the LG Optimus Fuel which bricked last monday

The pictures are courtesy of my new LG Rebel LTE which takes better pics and is generally an upgrade.

I'm a little sentimental about the old one because it was my first, and it was a great story- I bought the phone brand new for $5 on sale, brand spanking new. It also had an awesome hard case (now casket) that I bought it.

The new phone was a price point of $30 on sale through my provider, with free overnight shipping, so the only real inconvenience is the loss and subsequent recapturing of some contacts.

The moral here, is twofold. Plan on replacing every year or so, as that phone lasted just under two years(August 2015) and back up my damn contacts.

     Here endeth the lesson.

Tango

As of this moment, he is sitting on the back of my office chair and inviting me (against all logic and sense of balance) to "come here" He often does this, invites me into his cage or to join him on whatever narrow thing he is perching on. Dream on, Tango, Dream on.

And now he's jumped over onto my shoulder. Better plan.

Still here

I am still here, everything is all right, just haven't felt much like writing. Tango and Cappy went through Spring Hormones... well think of it kind of like having a loud toddler who is also a teenager and is armed with a pair of wire-cutters. Multiply that by two and they both HATE each other...and you will see why I have been a little tired. They are mostly back to normal now.

Movie reviews coming on POTC5 and Wonder Woman in the not too distant. new toy Pics soon as well. Otherwise, thanks for bearing with me and talk to you soon
